Lump in my gum, that is very sore?

It started hurting about 5-6 days ago, and the problem area is on the bottom left side of my mouth behind my molars, on the inside of my jaw next to my tongue. I’m positive it is my gums, because it has formed a large bump there, that is painful to touch, lick, or sometimes just have there, while my teeth feel fine. Drinking/eating makes it hurt a lot too. This isn’t the first time this has happened; it’s flared up about 3 times before, with long periods of normality inbetween.

Could it be a new tooth coming in (but I’m 17 1/2 already!)? I was worried incase it may be a sign that I’ll need a root canal soon (I don’t brush/floss/wash almost at all) and that I need to see a dentist (of which I’m deathly terrified of.) I’ve heard of wisdom teeth, but I’m not even sure what they actually are. Maybe that is what the problem is?

It also may be draining pus. It was prob. bigger yesterday than now, because I kept poking at it and may have popped part of the lump, if that’s what it is….

Hayleyjade? BRACES?

ok this is about braces and stuff and on my other question hayleyjade [dont know the rest] said that spacers hurt REALLLLLLY bad!
Whats the process through getting those and where do they go?
And do you have to get any shots or anything???

And this one is somthing eles shes said
“you may have to get a procedure called a gingevectomy done so you won’t get gingivitis. When you get a gingevectomy, your ortho will get a huge needle and put it in your gums to numb them (you don’t feel it at all). Then he/she will proceed to cut the swollen skin off. You can feel this part a *tiny* bit, but not enough for it to actually hurt. It just feels like a pinch.”

about what she said there do i HAVE to do that or is it only if i dont brush and floss and stuff?
And does it hurt really bad?

How to get rid of excess gum on one tooth?

I have pretty healthy teeth. They are white, I floss and brush daily. However.. one ONE of my teeth, it has more gum covering it than the rest of my teeth. It makes everything look uneven and i’m not pleased with this.

How can i get rid of this excess gum on this tooth?

Thank you!

Gingivitis?

The last time I went to the dentist, they told me that I was beginning to have signs of gingivitis. I always brush twice a day and use mouthwash usually once a day. They told me not flossing was the problem. I’m a little worried because I’m going back to see the dentist on Thursday and I don’t want to go in there and get yelled at again. I’ve been flossing whenever I remember (it’s hard to remember when you haven’t been brought up with that habit), but I’d kind of like to be prepared for an angry lecture or not. My gums don’t bleed when I floss anymore. The only symptoms I had last time was bleeding when flossing. Can anyone give any other symptoms or suggestions for making sure I don’t have gingivitis? I’ve looked at pictures, but all I’ve really been able to find is very badly onset gingivitis, which doesn’t help except to terrify me. The area where the gums cover my teeth is a lighter shade of pink than the area that surrounds that area… is that bad?
I think I saw the dentist six months ago… should the gingivitis have gone away since then?

…and the dentist didn’t “yell” yell at me…it was mainly the dental assistant… and she acted as though I didn’t deserve to have teeth.

Are there any natural ways to get whitten teeth?

I do all the normal teeth things
I brush, Floss, use mouth wash, and Act floride rinse.

If there a tootpaste, that helps promote whitten teeth, or is there a good gum.

I really don’t want to go the dentist for treatement.

A question about my tonsils. I am 26 yrs old. I still have my tonsils. They are very large with huge holes?

in them. Really big craters. Am I too old to have them taken out? I haven’t had tonsilitis in a few years. Could they be the cause of my bad breath? I brush and floss. I always have a white film on my tongue. Even a tongue cleaner doesn’t help. If I don’t constantly chew gum, my breath is awful.

Spacers dental?

OK, I am getting invisalign soon and the orthodontist put spacers in my teeth and polished down the sides of some of my teeth to make room for the shift.

Now food always gets stuck in between the gaps and my gums are starting to get really irritated. I brush and floss everyday…so any other suggestions?
