what kind of piercing would look good on me?
September 21st, 2009 Posted by: admin
I’ve been thinking about getting a monroe, but then i’m not sure if: one it’d even look good on me & two:if it will really cause gum problems.
i really think they’re cute. of course if I got one it’d be a diamond :] nothing big or anything. So, what are your guys’ thoughts, if you have one,has it affected your gums in any way since you got it?
here’s a picture of me :]
if you think something else would look better, let me know

My cat is getting very thin?
September 11th, 2009 Posted by: admin
Does anyone know of anything I can give her to build her up. She is 13 years old and has always been a thin cat. She has gum problems and is taking medication but has no problems eating. She is suffering from the cold at the moment and I want to give her a boost. Any ideas?

Anyone known a crowned tooth becoming unstable after only 3 weeks of being crowned and may have to be removed?
September 9th, 2009 Posted by: admin
During my usual 6 monthly check, dentist advises that I have a tooth needing a crown before it becomes unstable, plus one small filling.Did the crown prep work, discovered some decay beneath the filling & gave a core filling to check that the tooth settled down and was suitable for crowning. One month later no problems, so impression & temporary cap.Two visits to hygienist for a deep clean (I have gum problems) and that was fine.5 weeks after temp cap, new crown fitted (total cost of treatment £443.60).Experienced some discomfort but knew things would need to settle down. Here I am 3 weeks after the crown fitting, back at the dentist with an aching crown plus aching upper teeth.Did a bite test and advises the crown has moved, the tooth has become unstable.Upper teeth is a gum problem.Back to they hygienist who can find nothing wrong and is guessing at sensitivity, fluoride treatment and now waiting to see how it goes. Can a tooth like this become unstable in 3 weeks of having a crown????

I am beyond FRUSTRATED cat food question?
July 31st, 2009 Posted by: admin
I have asked this question a long time ago and now I am asking again. I am trying to find one of the BEST DRY cat foods on the market for my 2 rescue kitties. One of me cats was an abuse case and has suffered so much in her life. I have given her the life of luxury now and want nothing but the best for her. She is also prone to having gum problems. They both get there share of wet food but my one cat prefers dry so I get them dry also. I have been feeding eukanuba and am wanting to know if that is a good food? Real meat was the first ingredient I am just afraid besides that I am unsure of what I should be looking for. I have been looking also at EVO and Wellness Core are these the best? Are they better than the eukanuba or about the same? Is there a better brand that someone suggests? Again, I just want the best for them. My one cat has already suffered so much.

Feline - full mouth tooth extraction?
June 24th, 2009 Posted by: admin
My cat has had gum problems (severe stomatitis, I think is the right term) for awhile, and we’ve tried a number of different types of medications…some of which help temporarily.
5 CommentsTo make a long story short, we’ve had 3 different vets suggest that a solution to this could be the extraction of all the teeth in her mouth. This sounds very scary to me, but having 3 vets recommend it leads me to believe that this might be helpful.
My question is, do any of you have cats who have had all their teeth removed? Are they happy/healthy/eating/etc? Is this a procedure that you’re glad to have had?
If anyone has any insight on this scary concept, I’d love to hear from you.
Thank you!

Liquid nutrition for cats?
June 1st, 2009 Posted by: admin
My oldest cat is right around 20 years old. Throughout his whole life, we have had to deal with tooth and gum problems. Last spring, we finally had to have his last two teeth (canines) removed, because we simply could not get rid of the chronic gingivitis. Eating can be a challenge for him now, but he does pretty well with the food I give him (the Whiskas pouches with lots of gravy, etc.) and he does choose to eat dry food at times. Yet I feel like I could be getting him some better nutrition. He does not like the ground/pate type foods. Any thoughts on a liquid supplement, or something to help him eat healthier?

My cat lost loads of weight; eats and drinks very little?
May 3rd, 2009 Posted by: admin
My cat is approximately 14 years old. She has been vomiting two, three times a week for the past month. She lost a lot of weight in a very short time. Whatever food I buy, she eats very little of it and I end up throwing most of it away. Two days ago I took her to the vet to see if she perhaps had teeth and/or gum problems. She has strong, healthy teeth according to the vet. He also sent a blood sample to the lab and that came back clear. He says that if she were to suffer from diabetes, she’d drink loads more than she does now. Long story short: the vet is unable to find anything, but there MUST be something wrong. Is my cat merely a picky eater? The vet did give me two tins of prescription cat food and she seems to enjoy that, although she still only eats very little of the stuff.
She has been known to eat the leaves off plants. There is nothing amiss with her stool, as far as I can tell.
Please help. Thanks.
