please, i cant take the pain anymore!

Well, im a 12 year old boy and what do you know..we always like playing with stuff. But in this incident i happened to have a pen in my mouth biting the cap. But the pen slipped to my lower gum and cut that little line thing between your lip and your gum. (lower lip and straight vein like thing) I cut that on accident. It wasnt bleeding or anything it’s just a white, not too deep hole and hasnt gone away for a few days. I really want it to go away so i can talk without pain.

(it didnt have anything to do with the pen’s ink it was the cap that slipped and cut me)

please help

How can you reduce gum swelling effectively?

It seems that when I eat saltier foods they swell up the night of or the day after. However, an assistant from the ortho said salt is good for cleansing the gums?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
I also got my braces off a few months ago. I still wear my retainer, that seems to make the swelling occur too.

should I have my wisdom tooth out?

My molar three (M3) (bottom left) has being giving me jip - I have pericoronitis and had to go to the emergency dentist late last night. He drained it, flushed it, syringed it with corsodyl and gave me a 5 day course of metronidazole (evil stuff!)

For people that don’t know what pericoronitis is it is where the M3 is semi errupting (half in/half out) the gum and there is an infection because the area logistically cannot be kept as clean as one would like.

For those that have had this problem - have you had the tooth removed or was the pericoronitis a one off? its not the first time I’ve had trouble with errupting M3 - last time was about 5 years ago however there was no infection - just swelling.

I’m in the UK so it would be free at the dental hospital - not at the dentists. go the NHS!

I have to think about this option before Wednesday when I see my regualt dentist.

Please advise.

Do you think this was fair?

A ghetto, ignorant ***** was clicking her gum in the library @ my school in the COMPUTER LAB! My ears are very sensitive to gum-snapping or food-smacking. No food, gum, chewing tobacco, smoking, drinks-not even WATER is allowed. I asked her in a polite tone, “May you please stop clicking your gum? My ears are extremely sensitive to that.” She looked @ me like I was crazy & said, “B!tch, you better go take your crazy pills!” I told the lab tech, & he tried to say we both have to leave. Come to find out, he’s younger than me.

I wasn’t trying to pick an argument. The girl was breaking the rules, not me. Why do I have to be kicked out, too? I couldn’t concentrate, & I had to print out something important. I didn’t argue back with the girl after she told me what she told me.

Do you think that guy was being fair? What’s the difference between the gum or if someone was playing loud, distracting music with their headphones? I couldn’t concentrate. Now being angry about it I STILL can’t.
***I don’t mean to sound rude, but I’m very angry right now. My day is ruined.

Any chance a swollen left supraclavicular lymph node (Virchow’s node) could NOT be cancer?

I don’t have any other symptoms or any other swollen lymph nodes. The only complicating factor is that I had a root canal on a back tooth on the left side of my mouth and had a subsequent infection, so I guess that there is some obscure chance that this could be related to the infection I had in the tooth/gum after the root canal was done–except that everything I’m reading says that this particular lymph node doesn’t drain that way.

I also wonder is whether it really is my lymph node? The swelling is between the top of my shoulder and my clavicle . . . I can tell that this side is more swollen than the other side. Now it feels like my collarbone itself is larger on that side. It isn’t tender, but it aches at times. (because I’m poking at it?)

I have upper GI problems for almost ten years (GERD, etc) so obviously I am concerned about pancreatic or esophageal cancer. My CT scan is on Sunday, but I’m going nuts waiting. I would love to hear that it could be something else!
PS I was on clindomycin (sp?) for a week, then on 875 mg of Augmentin for ten days. I had just finished the first round of antibiotics when I noticed the lump.

Does drinking Red Bull make teeth rot?

I am a 22 year old girl and I have had previous dental problems, but absolutely nothing like this. I admit I became addicted to red bull about 2 months ago. Every morning I brush my teeth and at night. I think I am really good at this compared to others. I admit; I drank Red Bull everyday, 5 days a week at least. My car was full of them till I looked in the mirror. I noticed that my gums looked horrible and hurt. I looked closer and I can SEE a hole in my tooth towards the gum. I have never noticed this before. It looks like gingivitis and obvious tooth decay. I thought to myself, “What happened?” I realized I would have a red bull at 9 in the morning everyday on my way to work. Not drink any thing till almost 5 hours later or more. I know I should be drinking water, but I never seamed thirsty. So could my teeth been rotting while I was at work? Could it have been happening all along? I never knew it.I figured it really was nothing like Coca Cola, which has been proved to rot teeth!
