Any chance a swollen left supraclavicular lymph node (Virchow’s node) could NOT be cancer?

I don’t have any other symptoms or any other swollen lymph nodes. The only complicating factor is that I had a root canal on a back tooth on the left side of my mouth and had a subsequent infection, so I guess that there is some obscure chance that this could be related to the infection I had in the tooth/gum after the root canal was done–except that everything I’m reading says that this particular lymph node doesn’t drain that way.

I also wonder is whether it really is my lymph node? The swelling is between the top of my shoulder and my clavicle . . . I can tell that this side is more swollen than the other side. Now it feels like my collarbone itself is larger on that side. It isn’t tender, but it aches at times. (because I’m poking at it?)

I have upper GI problems for almost ten years (GERD, etc) so obviously I am concerned about pancreatic or esophageal cancer. My CT scan is on Sunday, but I’m going nuts waiting. I would love to hear that it could be something else!
PS I was on clindomycin (sp?) for a week, then on 875 mg of Augmentin for ten days. I had just finished the first round of antibiotics when I noticed the lump.

Hmmmm, about to get a DOUBLE root canal in less than 1.5 hrs.–WILL I ?

be in any pain whatsoever?
Not in any pain now, nor has it ever even bothered me in the slightest
root canals r a 1st 4 me. BUT~was curious ….
after this procedure will I be exhausted later today??
Just looking 4ward to having the root rot FINALLY removed just to get it OVER and DONE WITH ;-D
[should I take a sm. portion of xanax to relax a bit?]
and does the dentist normally inject novacane in the SIDE of the gum??
–or right smack injected in the middle of the tooth right after he removes the temp. crown?
thedavecorp–
I was irresponsible w/the temp crowns, never went back to complete it
months went by, and then they both decayed very bad (I can see it), so he’s being honest
he tried to ’save them’but I waited much to late to have the rest done [won't ever do that again, lol]
anyway, my gums are very unusual because even tho I’ve had cavities, I’ve NEVER had real tooth pain at all,
just a couple of minor aches once in a blue moon
Just got back.
I didn’t like that too much, all that drilling, yuk.
But it wasn’t painful,–he just had to give a little more novacaine once the procedure got deeper into the root.
one more to go,
then finally the posts & crowns :o)
It sure takes a LONG time though!!!–getting quicker apps. I’m looking at 5 more trips to the dentist between both these teeth
man, it’s expensive!!
better to spend tho, than run around w/no teeth, lol

What can I do about the pain?

I just had a root canal done a couple hours ago and I am back at work. The dr told me to take some tylenol for the pain bc I’m pregnant so I cant really take anything else. But tylenol does nothing for me. I’m not looking for other medicine to take but other pain releiving methods. How do I know if to use ice or heat? Is there any acupuncture spots I might can hit to help? The numbing is about to go away so I want to get ahead of the pain i know i’ll have in my gums.

I have a gum boil at the sight of a root canal. Should I worry?

I had a root canal five years ago. About six months after the procedure, a gum boil developed on the gum, directly above the crown site. I have only recently figured out what it was. There’s never been pain or pressure. It occasionally fills, then pops and goes away for a few weeks. Considering the mildness of the situation, compared to others I’ve read about, what is the worst scenario I could be facing? Should I worry about bone loss, or possible surgery?

Lump in my gum, that is very sore?

It started hurting about 5-6 days ago, and the problem area is on the bottom left side of my mouth behind my molars, on the inside of my jaw next to my tongue. I’m positive it is my gums, because it has formed a large bump there, that is painful to touch, lick, or sometimes just have there, while my teeth feel fine. Drinking/eating makes it hurt a lot too. This isn’t the first time this has happened; it’s flared up about 3 times before, with long periods of normality inbetween.

Could it be a new tooth coming in (but I’m 17 1/2 already!)? I was worried incase it may be a sign that I’ll need a root canal soon (I don’t brush/floss/wash almost at all) and that I need to see a dentist (of which I’m deathly terrified of.) I’ve heard of wisdom teeth, but I’m not even sure what they actually are. Maybe that is what the problem is?

It also may be draining pus. It was prob. bigger yesterday than now, because I kept poking at it and may have popped part of the lump, if that’s what it is….

What is the process that dentists go through to get rid of dental decay in the incisor teeth?

I’ve been to the dentist and I have decay in my two lateral incisor teeth. I just want to know what the process is of him getting rid of it. He said its pretty severe and I will need a root canal if not treated soon.

There are no free clinics.
I dont have a regular Doctor, ( No medical-dental-S.O.L)
I will def. Try the Hot rag, And drops.. Someone told me to put Rubbing alcohol in my ear.
Is that a bad idea? Sounded odd to me.
